What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed for the site to work; others help the owner understand how the site is used, or follow you around the internet to advertise to you.
This site sets no cookies
We do not set any cookies at all — not for analytics, not for advertising, and not for anything else. We do not use local storage or any similar technology to store information on your device either, and there are no third-party advertising, social media or tracking scripts embedded in these pages.
Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, the consent rules in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations do not bite, and there is no cookie banner to click through. That is deliberate.

How our analytics work
For analytics we use Umami, a privacy-first, cookieless tool. It is self-hosted for us by Sandbanks Digital, the agency that builds and maintains this site, rather than sent to a third-party advertising network. It records aggregated usage — which pages are viewed, the approximate country a visit came from, the type of device and which site referred you — without cookies and without tracking you from one site to another.
Umami does not store your IP address. It uses it momentarily, combined with your browser details and a salt that changes daily, to produce an anonymous identifier so that repeat page views within a day are not counted twice. That identifier cannot be traced back to you and does not persist beyond the day. In short: we can see that a page was popular, but not who read it.
Server logs
Like any website, ours runs on a server that keeps ordinary technical logs of requests. These are not cookies and are not used to track you — they exist so the site can be kept running and secure. Our Privacy Policy explains how they are handled and for how long.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Even though this site sets none, you can block or delete cookies from any site through your browser settings at any time. Guidance for the main browsers is available at aboutcookies.org.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add anything to the site that does use cookies, we will update this page before it goes live and ask for your consent where the law requires it. The "last updated" date above shows when this page last changed.
